Ms. Hina Usmani is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and has joined the Firm as a partner to lead the Karachi operations in 2020. She brought with her over 30 years of rich experience in both industry and professional practice.
In line with the firm’s practices, the business in Karachi is focused on assurance and advisory services to private and public large sector organizations. Since her association with the Firm, she has reactivated the Karachi operations and continues to work towards expansion in professional services horizon to the public and private sectors. She provides timely support to existing ISCO client offices based in Karachi and as a leading partner provides due support to other firm offices across Pakistan. She is keen to develop international outreach of the firm and is actively engaged with MGI Worldwide global offices through their networking events, periodic skill development, and technical knowledge enhancement programs. She is also the founder and Managing Partner of Usmani & Co. (UCO), an all-women-led quality-rated SMP in Pakistan, and introduced a unique working model in 2013 for women accountants to work from home & flexible hours which is also acknowledged by the World Bank in their ROSC Report 2017 for Pakistan. UCO is one of the global signatories of the United Nation’s Women Empowerment Principles (WEP). She has the honor of being elected as the first woman Council Member in 2017 and the first woman Vice President of ICAP in 2019. She was re-elected in 2021 as a council member and currently chairing the CA Women Committees of ICAP. Internationally, she is chair SAFA Women Leadership Committee and serves as a Technical Advisor at the IFAC SMP Advisory Group (SMPAG). She is a member Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee of the Sindh Revenue Board of the Government of Sindh, a member of SDRC formed by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan for resolving insurance disputes, a member Karachi Tax Bar and serves in multiple committees of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Her contribution to the accountancy profession in Pakistan has been widely appreciated and portrayed by IFAC, ICAP, World Bank, US-Pakistan Women’s Council, United Nations Development of Pakistan as well as by local and international media and professional accountancy circles.
